Fusion Splicer Repair

Meticulous Maintenance For Your Equipment

Our technicians highly advise scheduling an annual calibration for your fusion splicer at Legacy Fiberoptics. During this routine maintenance, we conduct a comprehensive examination of the unit to ensure its optimal functionality. Commonly used components like rubber pads or electrodes are replaced, and any other parts that require repair are identified and addressed. Additionally, we execute a meticulous cleaning of your equipment to maintain its efficiency and longevity.

Legacy Fiberoptics offers fusion splicer repair for a variety of manufacturers both past and present. We have worked on most splicers, even those built in the early days. Our technicians are specialists that have been trained to troubleshoot issues to the component level resulting in saving you time and money.

CLEAVER REPAIR

Cleavers are the source of many issues associated with fusion splicing. A cleaver that is not properly maintained, will eventually never work right. High cleave angles, bubbles in splices and high estimated losses can all point to issues with cleavers. Our technicians inspect several aspects of the cleaver including operation such as cleave angles and measuring actual splice loss.

Let Us Help You

If you have a splicer that is experiencing splicing, camera, or motor issues or giving constant error messages, don’t let it sit around collecting dust. Fill out an RMA form to get the splicer in for service ASAP!  Be sure to send the cleaver, power cord, batteries and splicer together. This practice allows our technicians to evaluate your entire fusion splicer setup for issues, instead of just the splicer, which may actually function properly.
