Overview
The MT 9083 Singlemode OTDR offers excellent trace resolution with a variety of pulsewidth options. Equipped with Singlemode 1310/1550nm, 40/41dB dynamic range, Power Meter and VFL options, USB data transfer.
- Exceptional Dynamic Range (40-41 dB): A higher dynamic range means you can test longer fiber spans with more accuracy—detecting subtle losses or faults far out without needing multiple devices. Ideal for backbone or long-haul fiber, or for networks that may expand.
- Dual Wavelength (1310 / 1550 nm single-mode): These are the standard wavelengths for most single-mode fiber work. Having both gives you the ability to check both near-end and far-end events, validate splice/connectors, and certify fiber to industry specs.
- Integrated Power Meter & Visual Fault Locator (VFL) Option: Combines multiple tools into one: measure power, locate faults visually, and verify connectors. Reduces gear you need to carry, speeds up workflows, and helps localize issues without switching equipment.
- USB Port for File Transfer: Saves time when you need to move traces or reports to a PC. No need for proprietary cables or complex software — simple drag-and-drop. Enhances documentation, helps with compliance, and makes archiving easy.
- Multiple Operating Modes: Standard, Construction, Fault Locate: Lets you adapt to what the job demands. For new builds (“Construction”) you want consistency, for troubleshooting (“Fault Locate”) you want speed. MT-9083 gives you both so you aren’t wasting time.
