CMA 5000 OTDR

Overview

CMA 5000 offers a modular design which allow for multiple module configurations. Windows based user interface, color touch screen and USB data transfer make this an easy unit to operate. Module configurations should be stated at time of request.

  • Versatility Means Fewer Tools to Buy, Carry, and Maintain: Because of its modular design, you can adapt the unit for different tasks (single-mode jobs, power measurement, launch cable, etc.) instead of buying separate instruments. That means savings on procurement, fewer items in your kit, fewer things to calibrate or repair.
  • Faster Job Turnaround: With a user-friendly interface and touch screen, less time is wasted in setup, navigating menus, or dealing with steep learning curves. Add USB data transfer: you can get test results off the device quickly, integrate into client deliverables or internal records without fuss.
  • Improved Accuracy and Compliance: Having current calibration certificates means your measurements are reliable. That matters for accountability, customer acceptance, warranty work, or regulatory compliance. You reduce the risk of having to redo jobs because measurements were out of spec.
  • Field Readiness: Options like the on-board launch cable module and having power meter built in reduce what you need to haul around. Less gear, fewer connections, fewer opportunities for damage or connection error in the field.
  • Scalable and Future-Proofed: As your work changes (e.g. needing different modules, different kinds of measurement), this OTDR lets you adapt rather than replace. That lengthens its useful life, spreads your investment over more jobs, gives better ROI.
  • Better Reporting & Documentation: The USB transfer, calibration certs, exportable data mean you can produce solid reports for clients, supervisors, or compliance bodies—trace files, power readings, loss budgets, etc. That strengthens your professionalism and credibility.
